Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Academease for using BaseHost. We've tried to keep them short and plain. By creating an account or publishing an app, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

BaseHost (basehost.app) is run by Academease, Herzl 64, Petah Tikva, Israel. You can reach us at contact@basehost.app. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Academease, and "you" means the person or business using BaseHost.

Subscriptions are sold by our billing partner, Tappius Mobile LLC, 1209 Mountain Road Place NE, Suite N, Albuquerque, NM 87110, USA.Tappius Mobile LLC acts only as a reseller and payment collector: it takes payment and issues receipts and refunds. Academease alone provides BaseHost and is solely responsible for it, including the service itself, these terms, your apps' hosting and any claim connected with them. Tappius Mobile LLC has no obligations or liability to you for BaseHost beyond processing your payments and refunds, and any claim about BaseHost must be brought against Academease.

2. What BaseHost does

You upload an app you exported from Base44. We build it, set up its database, backend functions and sign-in, and run it as a live website at an address on basehost.app or on your own domain. We don't change what your app does. We run the code you upload.

We work hard to keep apps online, but we can't promise BaseHost will always be available or free of errors. We may improve, change or stop features over time. If we ever shut BaseHost down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to get your data.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use BaseHost.
  • If you use BaseHost for a business, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
  • You're responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your sign-in secure and tell us right away if you think someone else has accessed it.

4. Your apps and your responsibility for them

You own your apps. The code you upload, the content in it, and the data your app collects stay yours. You give us permission to copy, build, store, run and display your app only as needed to host it for you, to keep BaseHost secure, and to fix problems you ask us about. That permission ends when your app is deleted. We don't use your app or its data for anything else, and we don't use it to train AI models.

You are responsible for the apps you host. That includes:

  • having the right to upload and publish the app and everything in it, including code, text, images and data;
  • what your app shows, says and does, and how it treats the people who use it;
  • the data your app collects from its users, including telling them how you use it with your own privacy notice and getting any consent the law requires;
  • any laws that apply to your app and your business, such as consumer, privacy, tax and industry rules;
  • keeping your own copy of your app and any data you can't afford to lose.

We don't review apps before they go live and we aren't the publisher of what's in them. If someone makes a claim against us because of your app or how you used BaseHost, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use BaseHost to host, send or support any of the following:

  • anything illegal, or that helps someone break the law;
  • child sexual abuse material or any sexual content involving minors;
  • phishing, scams, fake login pages, malware, or anything meant to deceive people or steal their information;
  • spam or unsolicited bulk email;
  • harassment, threats, hate speech or content that promotes violence;
  • impersonating a person, company or brand;
  • material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
  • sexually explicit content;
  • attacks on other systems, or attempts to get around BaseHost's security, limits or billing;
  • using BaseHost mainly as file storage, a proxy or VPN, for cryptocurrency mining, or in any way that puts an unreasonable load on our systems.

Sensitive data. BaseHost is not certified for regulated data. Don't use your app to store payment card numbers, health records or government ID numbers unless we've agreed to it in writing first.

6. Fair use

Each app includes generous limits on traffic, storage, database size and backend work, suited to small and medium apps. If an app uses far more than that, we'll email you and work out a solution with you. If an app's usage threatens BaseHost or other customers, we may slow down or pause it first and contact you right after. We never charge you extra for usage without your agreement.

7. Price and payment

  • Each app has its own monthly subscription, custom domain included. The price, in US dollars, is shown on your dashboard and at checkout before you pay, and is never more than $5 per app per month.
  • Each new app runs free for 7 days. To keep it online after that, start its subscription.
  • Subscriptions are sold and billed by Tappius Mobile LLC, our billing partner, with payments processed by Stripe. Your card statement will show Tappius.
  • Tappius Mobile LLC calculates and collects any VAT, GST or sales tax due where you live and adds it at checkout.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. If we change the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.

8. Cancelling, failed payments and deletion

Cancelling. You can cancel an app's subscription anytime from your dashboard or by emailing us. The app stays online until the end of the month you've paid for. After that it goes offline.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we'll let you know and retry. Your app stays online for 7 days. If payment still hasn't gone through by then, the app is paused and visitors see a notice that it's offline.

What happens to your data. After an app goes offline or is paused, we keep its data for 30 days. During that time you can restart the subscription to bring it back as it was, or ask us for a copy of its data. After 30 days we delete the app and its data. Copies in our backups expire on their normal schedule. The app's address on basehost.app may then be given to someone else.

Closing your account. You can ask us to close your account at any time. We'll delete your apps and data on the same schedule.

9. Refunds

If you're not happy, you can get a full refund within 14 days of your first payment for an app. The details are in our refund policy.

10. Suspension, takedowns and appeals

If an app breaks these terms, we may take it offline or close the account. For serious or urgent problems, such as phishing, malware, child abuse material or a legal order, we act right away. Otherwise we'll email you first and give you a chance to fix it. Either way, we'll tell you what we did and why, unless the law stops us. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that email and a person will review it.

Reporting an app. To report an app hosted on BaseHost, including a copyright complaint, email contact@basehost.app with the app's address, what's wrong, and, for copyright, the work you own and your contact details. If we remove something after a copyright complaint, we'll tell the app's owner, who can send us a counter-notice.

11. Custom domains

You keep owning any domain you connect. You're responsible for registering and renewing it and for its DNS settings. If your app goes offline, remove the DNS records pointing at BaseHost or your domain will show an error page.

12. Other services

Some features, such as sign-in with Google, sending email or AI requests your app makes, rely on other companies' services. We aren't responsible for those services being unavailable or changing how they work, but we'll do our best to keep your app working.

13. Disclaimers

BaseHost is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises beyond what these terms say, including about BaseHost being fit for a particular purpose or uninterrupted.

14. Limits on liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities. Our total liability for any claim about BaseHost is limited to the greater of what you paid for BaseHost in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using BaseHost after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.

16. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts in Tel Aviv-Jaffa have exclusive jurisdiction. If you're a consumer, you also keep any right you have to bring a claim in the courts where you live. Before going to court, please email us. Most problems are solved quickly that way.
