Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information BaseHost collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the service. We don't sell personal information.

1. Who is responsible

BaseHost is run by Academease, Herzl 64, Petah Tikva, Israel (contact@basehost.app). There are two kinds of information on BaseHost, and responsibility differs for each:

  • Your BaseHost account and our website. We decide how this information is used, so we are responsible for it (the "controller").
  • Information inside the apps you host. When people use an app hosted on BaseHost, that app's owner decides what is collected and why. The app owner is responsible for it, and we process it only on their behalf and on their instructions (as a "processor"). If you use an app hosted on BaseHost and have a question about your data, contact the owner of that app.

2. What we collect

Your account

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use your email to run your account and send you service messages, such as deploy results, billing notices and changes to these policies.

The apps you upload

We store the Base44 export files you upload, including your app's code, configuration and any data included in them. We use them only to build, run and troubleshoot your app.

When you publish an app, we analyze its code automatically, partly with an AI model, to work out how to set up its database. This analysis looks at your app's code, not at the personal information of your app's users. We don't use your app to train AI models.

Your live sites' data

While your app runs, we store and process what it needs on your behalf. This includes the accounts of people who sign up to it, the records it saves, files users upload, emails it sends and requests it makes to AI features. We access this data only to run your app, keep BaseHost secure, meet legal obligations, or when you ask us to help with a problem.

Billing

Payments are handled by Tappius Mobile LLC. We receive the details we need to manage your subscription, such as your name, email, country and subscription status. We never receive your full card number.

Analytics

On basehost.app itself (not on the apps you host), we use PostHog to understand how people use BaseHost so we can improve it. PostHog records pages visited, clicks, device and browser type, approximate location, and session recordings of how the site is used. Everything typed into form fields is hidden in those recordings. PostHog stores this data in the European Union.

Logs and security

Like any website, our servers record technical information such as IP addresses, request times and errors. We use it to keep BaseHost running, fix problems and prevent abuse.

When you contact us

If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you. If we contact you about BaseHost, we may use business contact details that are publicly available. You can ask us to stop at any time.

3. Why we use it, and our legal bases

  • To provide BaseHost: running your account and hosting your apps. We need this to fulfill our agreement with you.
  • To improve BaseHost and keep it secure: analytics, logs and fraud prevention. These are our legitimate interests, and we keep them proportionate.
  • To meet legal obligations: such as keeping billing records and responding to lawful requests.
  • With your consent, where the law requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run BaseHost, and only what each needs for its task. They are bound by contracts to protect it and to use it only on our instructions:

  • cloud hosting, database, file storage and content delivery providers;
  • build infrastructure that turns your upload into a running app;
  • AI model providers, used to analyze uploaded code and to serve AI features apps use;
  • email delivery providers;
  • Google, for signing in;
  • PostHog, for analytics on basehost.app;
  • Tappius Mobile LLC, our billing partner, which sells subscriptions and keeps billing records, and Stripe, which processes card payments for it. Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy; we never see your full card number.

App owners who need a list of the service providers that process their apps' data can request it from us. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.

5. International transfers

Our providers operate in several countries, including the United States and the European Union. When information leaves the country you're in, we rely on safeguards recognized by law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account information: while your account is open.
  • Apps and their data: while the app is online, then 30 days after it goes offline or is paused, then deleted. Copies in backups expire on their normal schedule.
  • Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Logs and analytics: only as long as they're useful for the purposes above.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, object to or limit how we use it, and withdraw consent. Email contact@basehost.app and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Israel, that is the Privacy Protection Authority.

8. Cookies

basehost.app uses a cookie to keep you signed in, which the site needs to work, and PostHog cookies for analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the sign-in cookie will sign you out. Apps hosted on BaseHost may use their own cookies. Ask the app's owner about those.

9. Security

Each app gets its own separate database. Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS, and access to systems that hold your data is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you without undue delay.

10. Children

BaseHost accounts are for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children for BaseHost accounts.

11. If you host an app on BaseHost

You are responsible for your app's users' information. That includes having a privacy notice that tells them what your app collects and why, and having a legal basis for collecting it. If you need a data processing agreement with us, email contact@basehost.app.

12. Changes

We'll update this policy when our practices change. If a change matters, we'll email you before it takes effect.
